Ben & Kim on the 2012 Austin concert

We are thrilled to be working with our community partners at Concordia University and St. David’s Episcopal Church. Our incredible team includes Ben & Kim (guitars), Sarasota Director Martha Lopez (soprano), Dr. Karla Hamelin (cello), Dr. Amy Harris (violin), Blythe Cates (soprano), and Robert Summers as our Student & Sponsorship Coordinator. We welcome Lt. Colonel (Ret.) Lynn Smith-Henry as an advisor, the St. David’s Children’s Choir, and our special guest performer Kirby Kelley, the 2009-10 “King of the Blues”. Kirby will be performing as a soloist and with a group of Austin veterans and a group of supporters.

Play with us! If you would like to take a beginning guitar class and perform on the concert, you may do so by signing up for St. David’s Journey Group guitar classes. The guitar classes (one for veterans and one for supporters) run each Sunday evening from February 17th – April 20th. (Two weeks off for SXSW & Easter)

They are free and open to the public. Students must attend all classes, and space is limited. St. David’s: 512-610-3500; http://stdave.org/site/adults/cat/journey_groups/

* Dress rehearsals will take place on the day of the concert: Saturday April 20th. They are currently scheduled for 4pm, we will schedule additional time as needed.

Listen to Kirby!
